I have a little game that I play with the kids to encourage (guilt?) them into eating dinner when they're being finicky eaters. If they refuse a dish, I'll say "but I added extra love, just for you" at which point they begin to ask where the love is and how I added it to a particular casserole. I just sprinkled it in, I tell them. Usually they end up eating, desperately trying to detect the added love.
Earlier in the week, whilst sitting at the dinner table, a certain dish just didn't suit my palate. It wasn't bad, it just didn't suit me that particular day. Isaac noticed this and reached over, pretending to 'sprinkle' extra love onto my plate. I asked him if that was the love.
"Yes, extra love. And some cooties."
Gotta love that boy.
