Paradox, Thy Name Is Mara

We're pretty solidly into the school year.
The kids are used to getting up at 6am and going to bed at 7pm.
We have a handle on homework and are into a regular routine.
But...
We had one little surprise this year.
And that would be Mara.

Would you believe this tiny, fragile little baby

With her chubby pink cheeks and beautiful blue eyes...

And skin nothing short of porcelain....

Is fighting with little boys?

Yep.  Tis true.

Apparently, they won't leave her alone.
They're in her space.
They're touching her hair.
And apparently they don't understand warnings.
Especially one little boy named 'Z'.

So my sweet, fragile, darling Miss Mara is fighting them off.
Kicking, if need be.
But one way or another, they're going to leave her alone.

I expected to hear she was chatty.  Maybe even argumentative.
But I never expected to hear she's scuffling with little boys.

Paradox, thy name is Mara.

Good for her!

Men don't get civilized unless a good woman does the job.

They'll fall in line - right behind her, and fight for first place!

I don't envy you those teenage years coming...!

Snort! Yeah, we're going to have our hands full in a couple more years. Mr. is considering a cannon on the front porch for when the dating years roll around.

Boys that show up looking for a date will find out post-haste where Mara's mean streak came from. Grrrr.
