More close to home fun today! We packed a picnic dinner and took the kids hiking at
John Bryan State Park today. The kids had a great time climbing paths, exploring caves and skipping rocks. We walked an old stagecoach path and talked about how scary it must have been to be riding in a stage coach, 2 feet from the edge of a 200 foot drop-off into the Little Miami River. We walked for about an hour, picnicked, played on the playground and then went to
Yellow Springs for some soft serve ice cream.

There is often so much to do close to home that gets overlooked in the common urge to go far afield for adventures. Your post is a reminder of that. And I love the picture at the end with the tree roots poking up.
Throwing rocks is so fun! Finally a place to do it without getting yelled at!
