Thought you might enjoy these. Sniff...they're growing up so fast! The chicks are already feathering out...and it's so funny to see them flap their little wings and hop off the roost. Hard to believe they're already 2 weeks old.

Sweet little chicks!

Mommy Dominique lunching with the chicks.

Our new girls, the Ameracaunas. Jeff loves how hawk-like they appear. My mom even commented that they look like predators, not chickens. Can't wait for those blue-green eggs!

Love araucana eggs. Are these a good chicken for a beginner or are they fussy birds?
Dreaming of a coop next year or probably the next...
We think these birds are Ameracaunas instead of Aracaunas...Ameracaunas have rumps, Araucanas don't.
Anywho, we've had 3 of them, 2 hens and 1 roo, and they have all been very peaceful, docile birds. When we wrangled the hens, they literally sat down on Jeff's arm like a perch and wouldn't move. Our rooster was as friendly as can be...not at all agressive with us or the hens. Sure miss Stu.
Our Buff Orpingtons are extremely friendly as well. The only fussy one is the Frizzle. Very flighty, timid bird.
