Things are a'changing here in our little homestead. Our diets being the major change. Processed or packaged food of any sort is pretty much off the menu, with the exception of the occasional bag of cheesy poofs. We've began to eat much more simply, utilizing our leftovers and eating as seasonally as possible. We've also instituted a new rule...you have to take one bite of new foods before you will be excused. Isaac has met this challenge head on...he likes food too much to refuse it. Miss Mara, on the other hand, has put on her stubborn face and is as determined not to try foods as I am that she WILL.
Case in point...brown rice patties. Jeff loved them, Isaac liked them, I liked them, and here's Mara's reaction:

No, she isn't a very happy camper, but I guarantee that by the time this day is through, she'll have a whole new appreciation for brown rice patties.

Oooooh, is she ever giving you the evil eye! I hope you have power and all is OK. We have at least 9" of snow (was officially measured at 8 inches at 6:30 PM, snowed *at least* a inch since then....still awaiting official totals)
Our snowfall petered out and we just got a dusting, on top of a sheet of ice though. Things are pretty much back to normal though.
Yeah, she's all about the evil eye! It took half an hour, but she tried a bite. She promptly spit it out in the trash, but hey, it's a win in my book.
I'm glad to hear things are OK there. It's SNOWING again right now....and they're forecasting single digit highs and negative lows from Wednesday thru the end of the week.
Amusingly enough in Paxson, Alaska, where my dog Streak is currently living, it is currently -25 (with windchills in the -40s to -50s), but Wednesday thru the end of the week the highs are supposed to be 30 to 35 there! Crazy!
