The Mr. is making me nuts.
He absolutely loves zombie movies and the cheesier and lower-budget the zombie movies, the more he likes 'em. The feature flick a few nights ago: "Flight of the Living Dead." Zombies on an airplane. Hmmm.
So anyway, when he heard about the CDC's efforts to protect us from zombies, he was practically giddy. When I checked out the link, I must admit that it made me giggle; a Preparedness 101 course, illustrated with comic book style drawings with zombies as a central element to the plot. Following the comic, there is a list of what you need to have stored for an emergency. All in all, it's a pretty neat presentation.
If you read through with a critical eye, you'll find a few interesting items, though. Perhaps an effort to assuage the fears of dyed-in-the-wool preppers, survivalists and homegrown terrorists; (you know, conservative Christian, anti-abortion, second-amendment-loving, food growing, food storing, homeschooling, anti-bad-government Tea Partiers.) Like on page 28, when the zombies are overpowering the guards at a safe zone and the response to Sarge is "We can't just shoot them. These are our fellow citizens!" Hmmm. So either the CDC is trying to make us feel safe and cozy about a lockdown/martial law environment...or...the guard is an Oathkeeper. I hope he's an Oathkeeper.
Either way, it's a cool site. They really don't have anything new to offer, but perhaps it's in a format that will get the attention of people who haven't given thought to preparedness before.

Thanks for the link. Interesting when a government agency is preaching to the choir about preparedness. Can't help but wonder, "What awaits us." I am so tickled that the Mr. is on board, now and my hubby is finally seeing the light. He is so eager to get moved, almost more than me. He wants to get saved and find a small church when we get moved. Hallelujah! Keep praying for our family that we become yoked together for the good of our Lord. Blessings to you and the family.
Hallelujah indeed! What good news!
