At long last, it would appear that summer is finally here. All the indications are there, anyway. Isaac is out of school. The corn in the field is up. We're smack in the middle of a 3-day heatwave.
Life is good.
Despite being the 'lazy days of summer', life is busier now with the necessary garden work and food preservation. We have Vacation Bible School coming up, along with biweekly visits to the Bookmobile in the next village. 3 birthdays. 1 holiday. 2-3 weeks of vacation in early July. A much anticipated backyard camping trip. A half-dozen DIY projects including a solar pool heater and a wowwy-zowwy water barrel sprinkler system. Somewhere along the way, I'd like to squeeze in a visit to the Creation Museum in Cincinnati and maybe a trip to see Jeff's brother's family in Stow.
That's a lot of stuff to fit into 3 short months, so I'm placing my blog on Summer Mode. I'll still be posting, but it'll be shorter, topical posts. Life is just too short and childhood too fleeting to spend all the precious summer hours blogging.

Enjoy your summer, Andie. A solar pool heater! Is this a do it yourself? Would love to know the details. We will be doing rain barrels once we get moved to the new house, but must say the sprinkler sounds more fun. :) Have fun with the kiddos and hope all is well.
Hey Shelly!
Yes, the solar pool heater is a DIY project. Jeff said he has it all worked out in his head....let's hope it translates to reality!
We have 2 rain barrells set up already, but we're going to set up 2 more with overflows and hook them all up to a hose. Somehow. Should be enough pressure to water the garden :)
Tell me more about your move!
The kid's in school until the 24th (yeesh!) and our weather is STILL in the 70s. I have NO idea what's going on with our summer - apparently everyone else is getting it...
