My absolute favorite thing about the holidays...late presents! Just when you think that all the hub-bub is over, there's one last goody to unwrap! Tonight, we received our last gift of the season from our dear friends Bob and Ann. Care to guess what it was???
Chickens! A roo with a bright red bow and 2 hens. Okay, there wasn't really a bow; but not for lack of trying :)
Ann and Bob got us interested in chickens last spring and helped us to adopt our first pullets. They've also been extremely generous with their time and their livestock, sharing hens and giving helpful advice. Tonight, they brought over a Christmas gift for the whole family...an Ameracauna rooster and two 5-month old hens. Can't wait to start gathering those green eggs!
Honestly, hasn't this been the best Christmas ever?

Chickens are a good thing to have around if times get rough. I have about 100 last count.
